SunBelt - Your Project Lifecycle
What to Expect When
Partnering With SunBelt Construction
SunBelt Construction is a
full service design/build timber construction company. At
SunBelt we use a turn key approach to building our timber
bridges, boardwalks, piers and other structures. This turn
key approach includes structural engineered designs, high
quality materials, specialized equipment, skilled labor, and
experienced management for the complete construction of your
timber structure. We know that each project is unique and we
want to be sure that your project receives the proper
attention required to create a superior structure that will
not only meet, but exceed your expectations. Here we have
outlined a typical project lifecycle that you can expect
when you choose SunBelt as you timber construction
specialist.
Pre Construction Phase
The first step in
partnering with SunBelt is to contact one of our highly
trained project specialists. At this point we will discuss
your project and get an idea of the scope involved. This
information will allow us to prepare a cost estimate for you
to review. This step also allows us to evaluate your project
and see how through our value engineering we may be able to
offer cost saving alternatives.
After discussing the
project scope we will then arrange a meeting for one of our
Field Managers to do a site visit. During this visit we will
establish and confirm the necessary elevations, centerlines,
takeoffs, soil conditions, and layout. This will ensure
minimal change orders throughout the entire construction
process.
After completing our site
visit we will then issue a project contract specific to the
details involved in your job. After a contract is executed
we will include your project on our construction schedule,
issue purchase orders for materials, and finalize the
structural design. Once the design is finalized you will be
sent a set of drawings to approve. A structural engineer,
licensed in the state of your project, will prepare final
signed and sealed designs ensuring the integrity of your
structure. If construction permits have not already been
applied for this would then be the next step.
SunBelt will coordinate the
delivery of these materials to coincide with the arrival of
our construction crews. This will allow for us to begin
construction on the very first day we are on site.
Construction Phase
On day one our crew will
arrive with all required tools and equipment and will be
able to begin construction. Our construction foreman will
walk the site with our crew and confirm the site survey. Our
crew will then begin the layout process including the
elevation and path of your structure. At this point you will
be given the opportunity to authorize construction to begin.
We have created a
presentation to familiarize you with our building technique.
Please take a moment to review our Bridge Building Tutorial
to gain an understanding of how we build our structures.
This presentation will detail our typical construction
process and explain how we build our structures from the top
enabling for minimal environmental impact.
Our Field Manager reports
daily on the construction progress to our Project Team. This
allows us to confirm that the construction is adhering to
the design and enables us to monitor the progress and ensure
a timely completion of your structure.
Post Construction Phase
Once the construction is
complete our Project Team will schedule a final walk through
with you to address any concerns you may have about the
final product. At this time we will perform any requested
adjustments or repairs.
Once the final walk through
is complete our Project team will issue your Product
Warranty. Our Product Warranty is one year for all
pedestrian structures less than a 10 ton load capacity and
three years for all vehicular products over a 10 ton load
capacity.
Included in these final
documents will be your Service Evaluation Form. We ask that
you take a moment to complete this form. We value your
feedback to help us further improve our performance.
Our Project team will also
schedule a six month walk through with you. At this time we
will perform all necessary repairs that are a result of
material defects or workmanship at no charge to you. This is
done to ensure the vitality of your structure.
At this time we will
request a formal sign off and acceptance of the structure.
This will complete the project life cycle.
This is what can be
expected for a “typical” construction project. Feel free to
contact one of our Project Specialists to begin you project
lifecycle today.
