Case
Studies of Timber Construction Structures
Timber
Construction at Big Cypress Basin
Project Summary
Project
location is Federal Indian Reservation that contained a
large variety of wild life. Environmental protection of the
land and safety of the wild life mandated engineered designs
and construction techniques that far exceeded previous
capabilities of the company. After extensive review with
each regulatory agency a comprehensive construction plan was
developed to meet the extreme environmental challenges. The
results of this intensive activity included the use of
native Indian work forces, construction totally built from
the top with absolutely no ground contact and aesthetically
pleasing timber structure that compliments the surrounding
natural beauty of the Reservation.
